What about quality?
There are really 3 main characteristics of fake fur; Softness, resilience (essentially how well they bounce after being creased), and how much they shed.
Generally speaking, these 3 characteristics are what determine the overall quality of a garment.
Secondly, there are different pile lengths and weights to choose from. Have you ever noticed that some fake fur coats are shagadelic with long fluffy hairs, while other coats are simply short and sleek? That all has to do with the pile length.
Faux fur colors
Faux fur can be created in a variety of colorways… in all honesty, the color combinations are pretty much endless! Though there is quite a bit of skill needed to achieve a good color blend and prevent fading (color fastness) over time.
This is where the skill and techniques of good quality manufacturers is extremely important. Different faux fur manufacturers use different techniques and processes and generally have a specialty or niche for certain types of fabrication.
For example, some manufacturers have the right equipment and experience needed to produce high-quality tie dye faux fur fabrics, whereas another fabric mill may be better suited to overlay printing, and another jacquard fabrication (aka some of our animal prints and color blocking, examples below).
